Coping with colic

Yesterday we heard that these 2 things help with colic:
  • infant massage from a chiropractor (3 times in a wek should do the trick)
  • a drug called “BENTYLOL” (the trade name), also known as “DICYCOLMINE” (the generic name)

So today we will try both. Has anyone else heard of these, or any other ways of helping with colic?

Have you tried the "colic hold". Keira only had gas issues (rather than full-blown colic) but it helped her when I held her tummy-down on my forearm, with her head at the elbow end. If needed, you can also rub their back with the other free hand.

Wow, this all sounds too familiar! We need to get together one of these days to brainstorm... Emma's been giving us a hard time since week 3. We can almost never get her on her back unless we want to hear about it. And evenings are short, I get maybe 4-5 hrs of sleep a night if I'm lucky! She doesn't let up unless you hold her upright on your chest. Otherwise I'm sure she'd be an easy baby. She doesn't fuss until she gets a sharp pain. I think I have a strong let-down which is making her chug. So I wonder if Andy had the same thing and he's learned the habbit of "chugging" which might still be giving him gas even though he's off the boob. Like I said, we need to talk!
